Where do I even start with these two? I remember first meeting Nathan & Hannah - we had gotten together for happy hour at the West End in St. Louis Park, to discuss wedding photography. Hannah's cousin was actually a part of a wedding I had shot in the summer of 2017, and having that connection meant we hit it off right away. I was very excited when I got the email that night, saying that they'd like to work together for their big day - especially since it was a winter wedding, which I love!
The details from this wedding were nothing short of stunning. Hannah's dress was absolutely perfect, and looked like something straight out of a bridal magazine. Her girlies wore soft lavender bridesmaids dresses, which went perfectly with the beautiful bouquets! Of course, Nathan had his say too - the two are major hockey fans, and their bridal party joined them in sporting jerseys during their dinner introductions.
Winter weddings aren't for everyone - especially with a photographer like me, who isn't only obsessed with the snow, but insists on outdoor photos no matter what! Thankfully, this group was especially brave. They were laughing and smiling through every second, and the girls even went without jackets during their group shots. I was impressed!
This first look was one of my all-time favorites to date. Although we didn't do anything crazy or flashy, this was one of the most emotional parts of the day for me. Watching Nathan's eyes light up as he turned around, and the true love these two have for one another, was truly magical. I think the photos speak for themselves and I'm so glad these two were able to share that private moment.
During the ceremony, most eyes were teary as Hannah and Nathan said "I do". I really loved the little touches these two worked in, like having their moms bring flowers representative of both the couple and their life together. It made for a truly heartwarming ceremony and some really loud cheering as the two kissed!
Once the rings were on and the license was signed, the party began! Nathan & Hannah come from fun families, and their reception didn't disappoint. The dance floor was packed with guests of all ages and the bouquet toss even led to someone on their hands and knees, fighting for the flowers! From cake cutting, first dances, the shoe game, and everything in-between, the room was full of laughter and smiles - the way a wedding reception should be!
From outdoor shots in the freezing cold of a Minnesota February, to adventuring through the hotel lobby, to running full-speed into their reception in their Fighting Sioux gear, these two really did make for a memorable day. I'm lucky when I meet couples as laid-back, outgoing, and fun as these two!
